How Puri works
Puri: Photo & Storage Cleaner is an iPhone app that finds duplicate and similar photos, screenshots, blurry shots and large videos, lets you review every suggestion before anything is deleted, and compresses photos and videos — with photo analysis done on the device.
1. One scan, on the device
After you allow access to Photos, Puri analyses each photo once on the iPhone: a compact fingerprint for exact and near-exact duplicates, an image feature vector for similar shots across the whole library, and quick checks for sharpness and closed eyes. Results are cached locally, so the next scan only looks at what changed. Photos kept only in iCloud are compared by their local previews — nothing is downloaded just to find duplicates. The scan can continue in the background and report progress in a notification or Live Activity if you allow it.

3. You confirm every change
- Puri suggests a keeper in each set and shows why; tap Set Keep to choose another.
- Smart Clean preselects only verified duplicates; the confirmation screen states the exact number of items and offers manual review.
- iOS shows its own delete confirmation. Deleted photos and videos go to Recently Deleted for about 30 days.
- Compression creates and checks a new, smaller copy first; the original is removed only if you choose that.
Privacy
Photo and video analysis happens on your iPhone. Puri does not upload your photo library, contacts or calendar to its servers. Purchases are handled by Apple. The app uses pseudonymous product analytics and crash reporting to improve reliability; these events don’t contain photo, video, contact or calendar contents. Details: Privacy Policy.

As of version 1.0.2 the free allowance is 20 deletions (up to 5 at a time) and 3 compressions. Puri Premium is an optional auto-renewable subscription; the App Store shows the current price, billing period and any trial before you confirm.

Frequently asked questions
Does Puri upload my photos?
No. Photo and video analysis runs on your iPhone, and Puri does not upload your library, contacts or calendar to its servers.
Can Puri delete photos without my permission?
No. Every deletion needs your confirmation in Puri and in the iOS system prompt.
Does Puri work with limited photo access?
Yes, but it can only scan the photos you selected for access. Full access finds the most duplicates.
Does Puri work on iPad or Mac?
Puri is designed for iPhone.
